Meet Your Guitar Teacher – Darren Howe

I’m Darren, a lifelong musician with over three decades of experience playing and teaching guitar and bass.
From weddings to theatres, pubs to festivals, I’ve performed across the UK in a range of settings and styles — including solo acoustic, rock bands, 60s covers, folk groups and more.

Now based in Stockton-on-Tees, I help students of all ages learn to play with confidence.
Whether you’re 9 or 90, it’s never too early or too late to start.

Not straight away. If you’re just starting out, we can lend you a guitar for your lessons while you decide what to buy.

Rock, blues, pop, indie, acoustic singer-songwriter, folk, and more. Lessons are shaped around your musical interests.

Where do the lessons take place?

You can come to my home studio in Stockton, or I can travel to you. Online lessons also available. A small travel fee may apply depending on your location.

About Me

I’m Darren Howe — a professional guitarist with over 30 years of experience performing, recording, writing, and teaching music across the UK.

From pub gigs to theatre shows, wedding bands to solo acoustic sets, I’ve played electric and bass guitar in just about every setting you can think of.

Through years of working in the music industry, I’ve developed a deep understanding of musicianship and how to help others grow as players.
